AP MALDI(ng) UHR

The AP MALDI (ng) UHR ion source is based upon the Next-Generation (ng) platform.  Along with new focusing optics, it also has a whole new level of user convenience with respect to installation and alignment.  If you have an older AP MALDI, there is no comparison – ask about a demo for a Next-Generation model today! More info.

MT Explorer 30

Say hello to our internally developed, MS-n capable 3D ion trap spectrometer, the MT Explorer 30.  Developed with field deployability and portability in mind, you can now bring laboratory level analysis with you wherever you want to go and with an atmospheric pressure interface, use almost any source you want!

New posters from IMSC 2018

New posters from IMSC 2018 are available in our Publications section. Please take a look how our colleagues from Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) use our APMALDI(ng) UHR instruments: Atmospheric pressure MALDI imaging Orbitrap MS using a Masstech AP/MALDI UHR ion source Mass Spectrometry Imaging in skin with AP-MALDI and TOF-SIMS

Masstech and KR Analytical IMSC 2018

Hello from Florence! We are here at our joint booth with Kranalytical (booth 24, right by the ThermoScientific area) and have a demo AP Maldi (ng) system for you to view. In addition to that, we just received an interesting one pager on quantitative AP Maldi analysis for food safety (tests on olive oil, milk and grapes) from Dr. Panchangula of India’s NCL that you may be interested in downloading. Finally, we encourage you to look at poster 118 (seen…

Target Has Been Updated – NG Users Should Take a Look

This is not an April Fool’s joke! Target has been updated to 8.7.2 (for the next-gen versions of the APMALDI).  I’ve also added some information on some of the most recent previous versions of Target.  These updates are fairly significant, and MassTech advises that all APMALDI (ng) users upgrade to this version of Target, especially those who are running experiments in automated mode. Changelog for 8.7.2: Raster XML autosave has been implemented.  Target will save raster xml files periodically during zoom…

AP MALDI, Quantitative Detection and Food Safety

One of our recent customers was Dr. Venkat Panchagnula at the National Chemical Laboratory in Pune, India (I remember the installation well!).  In 2017, his team published an article which may be of some interest to AP MALDI users due to the work he did to develop a method of quantitative detection (which was then validated with an LC/MS system).  Some of our other recent customers have mentioned interest in this kind of work, and Dr. Venkat was kind enough…

Hello, 2018!

So, as we noted earlier, 2017 ended with a bang.  We delivered a significant number of AP MALDIs worldwide and registered further sales of our MT50 mass spectrometer.  Thank you to our customers in Peru, France and South Korea for your hospitality and good luck with your new toys! However, we really wanted to note a couple big updates on the website: In the DOWNLOADS section, AP MALDI users should check out the newest version of Target for the AP…

Reports from ASMS 2017 Part 3 of 3

Sorry for the big break between posts, everyone!  It’s been a busy end to the year, and to be honest, we haven’t been super prompt on updating the front page of the site.  Apologies. We wanted to report one other item from ASMS, and this was the first public announcement of our latest commercial product, our Sub AP MALDI (ng).  This product is a bit of a break from our others in that it’s not an atmospheric pressure device.  It…

Reports from ASMS 2017 Part 2 of 3

As we continue to work through the interest shown in our AP MALDI next generation sources at ASMS, we would like to highlight another paper that one of our employees (in collaboration with NIH/NIDA-IRP) presented.  Titled “High Resolution Tissue Imaging Using Sub-Atmospheric and Atmospheric MALDI Sources”, written by Eugene Moskovets, Shelley Jackson, Ludovic Muller, Damon Barbacci, Albert Schultz, Vladimir Doroshenko and Amina Woods, the work focused on the use of different matrices and different laser wavelengths to improve ion yield…

Reports from ASMS 2017 Part 1 of 3

MassTech’s APMALDI (ng) UHR source was featured in several presentations throughout ASMS 2017.  We will be highlighting some of the key discussions in a series of reports from ASMS here on our website.  For more details on the papers and for the original posters, you can always get copies from the ASMS website. Bingming Chen, Chuanzi OuYang, Zichuan Tian, Meng Xu and Lingjun Li, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy, Department of Chemistry, Department of Biochemistry, “A High Resolution Atmospheric…
